The picture here is part of an image Steiner painted in on the ceiling of the Goetheanum. It replicates a famous statue of ‘The Representative of Humanity’, whose uprightness tells its own story.Initiatives undertaken in gratitude to Rudolf Steiner
All over the world there are initiatives, institutions and activities related to the work of Rudolf Steiner, in such fields as medicine, agriculture, education and economics, among others. But what is an ‘anthroposophical’ activity? Presumably, one undertaken by people who regard themselves as ‘representatives of anthroposophy’ (see The Anthroposophical Society).
Whether as teachers, farmers, doctors or economists, not only does their work allow Steiner’s generously given insights to flow into the world; it provides a way to ‘thank him’ for the gifts on which their work relies. It was also Rudolf Steiner’s hope that those responsible for such undertakings would avow their link to the Anthroposophical Society.
Anthroposophical activities are independently financed. The Anthroposophical Society is financed by its members and aligned organisations and foundations.
